The state is here to help people make it easier, but the state cannot solve anyone's problems if they don't want them solved themselves and if they don't tackle them. I think that in this context it is up to all of us to change that atmosphere“, said Boris Blažeković, director of CPP's Political Academy and CPP's parliamentary representative on a press conference held in Buzet before the public discussion titled "Liberalism and CPP's position in Croatia".

"By my deep conviction, we are sadly more burdened with less relevant, and less so with relevant matters. I think that this Government has, in the past two years, done a non-popular job which definitely hasn't contributed to the growth of the rating, but a clean-up job was necessary which was more strenuous and longer than we believed it would be. We entered the Government ready, with our projects, programs, ideas about how and what to do, but it took two years to change some things from the ground up in order for the Government to be able to function normally. The Government has, I believe, now succeded in that", continued Blažeković glancing on the current political situation in Croatia. He highlighted that the Government needs to prioritise 5 to 10 key projects which will be visible to the public at the end of the mandate, where citizens will be able to see the concrete results of that which the Government has actually done. This primarily relates to the positive investment climate and increase in employment.

Ranko Å vraka, president of CPP's Istarska CO, highlighted exactly unemployment, especially with the youth, as one of the key problems of Istarska County, and investment projects which are needed by the County as a good start in the decrease of the number of unemployed people. "The municipalities and towns of our County should support the creation of prerequisites for the development of the economy without politicising and without braking", concluded Å vraka.

After a press conference, Blažeković held a public discussion titled "Liberalism and CPP's position in Croatia", on which he spoke about the basic ideas of liberalism, the stereotypes which accompany it and liberal problematics.

"Liberalism as an ideology is the foundation of the modern state. Without liberalism we wouldn't have today's degree of freedom, but every freedom is accompanied by responsiblity", said Blažeković and glanced on the role of education and educating people in the party.

"CPP has been a liberal party from the very beginning, and the building of values within political parties is important, as well as the importance of discussions such as this one since one of the basic party functions is the selection of a national political elite which marks education, educationg and fine sanding of young staff, concluded the Academy's director and CPP's parliamentary representative.

The public discussion was held as part of the Academy's 2nd Department for additional education in general politics.
