HNS of Krapina-Zagorje County is heating up pre-election activities

Kumrovec, March 3, 2017 – Krapina-Zagorje county organization held a first round of training about volunteers and campaign door to door. Participants were candidates for mayors in local elections and their teams.

Anđelko Topolovec, president of the county organization spoke about organizational preparation and implementation of specific tasks of local elections in the county, while Marija Puh, Member of Parliament, secretary and lecturer of the Academy spoke about the volunteers and the activities that are currently being implemented by campaign door to door in the county.

"Upcoming local elections are a new test of democracy after the recent elections for the Croatian Parliament. Parties have already begun to represent the candidates and to prepare a strategy of appearances and HNS is a party that is among the first has started with the campaign. HNS has decided that nothing would be left to be coincidence so we have started meticulously with the division of tasks and responsibilities to the members of the party", said Topolovec.

"Candidates for mayors are passing a special preparations. So they have weekly meetings at which they are preparing for all the activities that follow. The candidates are working individually and in groups, and among other things they are preparing for public appearances, becoming familiar with the laws and regulations related to the performance of public functions. Focus is put on preparation and implementation of projects that can be financed from the European structural and investment funds", said Puh.

The seminar conclusion was that the Krapina-Zagorje County is working on segmentation of the population according to individual settlements in order to prepare high-quality pre-election campaign. It is important to mention that very soon will start the visits of the candidates to local committees in their municipality where they will become familiar with the needs of local people through conversation but also to present their vision for the municipality.
